An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. Through these programs our website users have the opportunity to purchase products that generate royalties for American Humane. When such purchases are made, the user becomes a customer of the company providing the product and is then subject to the policies of that company. American Humane does not collect personally identifiable information about users in these transactions, however the affiliate company may choose to share customer lists back with American Humane. These lists are entered into our member/donor database. Partnership programs. American Humane retains third party vendors to provide specific services. These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services. These companies do not retain, share, store, or use personal information for any secondary purposes. For example, Barton Cotton, the third-party vendor that administers American Humane's Holiday Card Program, provides a royalty to American Humane for each box of cards purchased online. American Humane shares the names and contact information of card purchasers with Barton Cotton so they may fulfill card orders. Barton Cotton is only permitted to use this information for mailings on American Humane's behalf. This information is not retained for Barton Cotton's own use.
