The leading farm animal welfare
certification program

Ever since American Humane Association created the first third-party farm animal welfare certification program in the United States, awareness of animal welfare and its link to the quality and safety of food has grown steadily. The fact is, good animal welfare means good food -- and that's what The Humane Table web site celebrates.

Honoring the bond

The American Humane Association has always recognized the connection we each share as living beings. From our beginnings in 1877, the mission of American Humane Association has been to ensure the welfare of children and animals. Since that time, we have been at the forefront of almost every major advancement in protecting children, pets and farm animals from cruelty, abuse and neglect. American Humane Certified, now ten years old, was the first third party audit program of farm animal welfare in the nation.  Learn more about who we are >
